5 ways to address your stress
This month our focus is on STRESS! If we do not address our stress, it can lead to anxiety and depression.
Why Address Your Stress?
Stress is everywhere, and it is directly linked to our mental health. The Mental Health Foundation UK organiser of Mental Health Awareness Week, says:
“By tackling stress, we can go a long way to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide. We will look at how we can tackle stress and help improve our mental health.”
Understanding what causes us stress and taking action to manage our stress levels is a key part of looking after our wellbeing. So I’ll be sharing some education I learnt from one of Englands Mental Health week Campaigns that can help you…
Address Your Stress
The education and resources are designed to help you:
- Understand your triggers
- Get to know your unique stress signature
- Manage your stress levels with self-care
- Reduce the impact of stress on your health and life
1. What is stress?
2. Sources of stress
3. Self-care for stress
4. Weekly wellbeing check-up
5. What’s in your Stress Container?
We’ve all got a Stress Container. In this clip, mental health campaigner Neil Laybourn explains what it is, how it works, and how to keep that tap open to stop your stress overflowing!
I really got a lot out of these resources used in the 2018 mental health awareness week England. I hope these help you or someone you know that is dealing with stress. We really can learn from other initiatives, research and campaigns around the world.
